Your website is your business card. It is just another way for consumers to communicate with your organisation. Many consumers check it before making a deal, even if transaction does not need any actions in the Internet.
This means that very important thing during the first contact with a consumer is what impression your website makes. Its graphic layout can create credibility, but its main role is functionality - cooperation of logic and emotion. Aware and effective businessmen know how important it is from a business perspective, because here local market has no longer limits.
Consumer-oriented web design offers organisations the potential to present themselves to millions of people in the way they exactly want to. Developing such website means a huge range of activities - its designing demands knowledge from various disciplines. There is a perception that web design is the most sophisticated and complex method to support communication in today's world. Web design has gone through times when consumers needs were not noticed, through dreams of interactivity until their fulfilment. Nowadays, web design is the most complex field in its history. It consists of graphic design, photography, animation, information architecture, human-computer interaction, marketing, communication design, corporate identity, interaction design, search engine optimization and typography knowledge. The whole process focuses on what website will accomplish and what its users will get from it.
Web design is a fascinating phenomenon which expands and develops very fast. Dealing with this still new environment requires an appropriate methodical approach. Good final project should be precisely and carefully planned from its beginning. Understanding of the project mission for both sides is crucial. It is all about creating a website having in mind its future users and their point of view, respecting their way of thinking and adapting to it. Graphics do not exist to decorate the space, but to show functionality without any words. It can be done through the use of impact of appropriate colours, shapes, images.
The goal is to make consumer satisfied - it is a key to gain a long time relationship.
